On 31, Dec 2006 we lost an elite member of CSI Gwalior Chapter; a prominent, hard working and highly technically minded person; Shri C.P. Gupta … or Gupta Ji as he was popularly known.

Gupta ji was a computer enthusiast, electronics wizard and a good and loving family person.

Gupta ji was born on 14th of March 1956 in Sicohabad, U.P. , he joined Indian Airforce as radar fitter in 1975, where he honed his skills in electronics and electrical equipments.

On 30th May 1990 he left Indian Airforce and shortly started Lucky Computers in 1991. Lucky Computers was one of the earliest computer peripheral shops in Gwalior. Guptaji soon moved into Computer repairing and assembling business and made a name for himself. This got him more close with embeded systems and Computer Controlled devices. In the mean time he also joined CSI Gwalior Chapter.

What soon followed was his deep study of computer hardware and designing of various micro controlled circuits. He successfully made various projects such as Water Tank Controller, Industry Automation System, Robotic Arm, Moving LED Scroller Displays etc.

He has also published his circuits design in Electronics 4 U Magazine and had actively published for CSI Gwalior Chapter Journal. He was a past secretary & past treasurer of CSI Gwalior Chapter and remained Exicom member for a long time.

In 2000, he ventured in teaching where he trained number of students who have done well for themselves in their respective fields.

In 2003, Gupta Ji was also one of the founder member of Global Information Technology Association, A club formed to promote computing.

He has organized various programs on Embedded Systems in 2003, 2004, 2005. He was to organize an event on Embedded Systems just a month before his untimely demise.

His untimely demise is a big loss to CSI Gwalior Chapter and Computer community of Gwalior.

He is survived by his Wife, Daughter and a Son.

As per bylaws of the CSI, elections for the following office bearers for the session 2008-9 are to be held. Nominations are invited for these positions so as to reach the under signed not later than 1800 hrs, 15th November 2007. All the members, who are not in arrears of subscription, are eligible to participate in election process.
